Long-term Treatment

At Ridgeback Recovery, we offer a specialized Long-Term Treatment program within our expanded 10-bed residential sober living environment (across two properties). This structured program is specifically designed for individuals facing legal consequences and requiring intensive support for nonviolent sex offending behaviors. The focus is on establishing stability and accountability to meet court, supervision, or personal requirements. We concentrate on the crucial need for clinical evaluation and sustained treatment when legal ramifications necessitate long-term care.

Our long-term residential approach provides a vital, stable solution for individuals facing the severe consequences of a sexual offense, which often results in the inability to remain in their previous home. Crucially, this program is utilized both in pre-sentencing (to potentially mitigate incarceration) and post-sentencing (as an alternative to jail), focusing intently on establishing the skills necessary to drastically reduce recidivism.

Our structured, long-term sober living environment is built on intensive clinical support, strict accountability, and life skills development. Clients are engaged in rigorous, ongoing recovery:

Clinical & Accountability Core

​

• Therapy Schedule: Clients typically participate in two scheduled group therapy sessions and one private therapy session per week, with this schedule customizable to meet individual needs.

• Daily Focus: To solidify the recovery foundation, clients are required to attend a 12-step recovery meeting daily.

• Accountability Measures: The program includes rigorous supervision, such as control of digital devices and regular, random testing for substance or alcohol use, ensuring full compliance with supervision and recovery goals.

Legal and Social Reintegration

• Legal Counsel Collaboration: Our Clinical Director maintains a close, professional relationship with the client's legal counsel to represent progress and provide court-ready documentation demonstrating a significant reduction in the likelihood of reoffending behavior.

• Family & Community Repair: We actively work with the client to initiate and support the difficult process of rebuilding damaged relationships with family and the wider community, guided by therapeutic principles of accountability and amends.

• Reputation Acceptance: A critical part of long-term recovery involves working with the client to accept the probable permanent adjustment in reputation, which often includes the reality of mandatory placement on a sex offender registry. We guide clients in developing a resilient, responsible identity moving forward.

Personal and Professional Growth

Beyond clinical work, this phase emphasizes community integration, personal responsibility, and skill-building essential for long-term stability:

• Skill Development: Clients actively develop essential work experience and further their recovery through skills-based modules such as virtue development and career planning.

• Mentorship: To reinforce accountability and consolidate learned behaviors, clients are expected to offer mentorship to individuals in our shorter-term programs (such as the boot camp).

Duration and Commitment to a New Life

The Long-Term Treatment program is typically retained in 3-month units, allowing for regular reassessment and goal planning. Clients have successfully utilized this stable, supportive environment for up to two years, demonstrating the commitment required for lasting change.
