Our Assessment Methodologies
One of the critical aspects of our rehabilitation programs for sex offenders is having a clear understanding of the client we’re working with through the following assessment techniques:
Static-99R
This method is based on the static or unchanging factors that can predict the risk of repeat offenses for male sexual offenders.
Stable-2007 / Actue-2007
This technique measures risk factors for the improved treatment and supervision of charged or convicted sex offenders.
Level of Service / Case Management Inventory (LS/CMI)
This assessment tool also looks at the recidivism risk of sexual offenders and multi-dimensional factors that can support treatment.
Abel Sexual Screening Index (AASI-3)
The Abel Sexual Screening Index focuses on the client’s sexual interests and involvement in abusive or problematic sexual behaviors.
Sexual Dependency Inventory (SDI)
Our therapists implement this assessment to check the client’s readiness for treatment, identify their acting-out behaviors, and figure out their thought patterns on offenses and their consequences.
Sexual Digital Media Inventory (SDMI)
The Sexual Digital Media Inventory is an assessment designed to help your therapist learn more about your use of sexual digital media, including things like apps and pornography.
Post-Traumatic Stress Index (PTSI-R)
This tool checks for any indicators of trauma from behavioral health concerns and addictive patterns.
Dive Into Our Rehabilitation Process
While the rehabilitation and treatment services we offer may vary depending on the sex offenders we work with, the process can be categorized into four phases:
The pre-engagement/engagement welcomes clients who proactively seek to improve themselves. Common topics discussed during this phase include responding to authority, admitting their personal history, and making healthier leisure choices.
The next step in our program is cognitive restructuring. We work to increase our clients’ awareness of their thinking and behavioral patterns, disclosure of their offenses, and the confrontation of emotional states connected to their problematic behaviors.
The third phase of our program is emotional integration. This phase aims to impact thought processes and belief systems. We work to ensure our clients learn proper coping strategies, discuss previously unhealthy relationships, and learn to develop intimate relationships with our staff and their peers.
Community integration is the final part of our program. We successfully equip our clients with the necessary skills and tools to reintegrate themselves into society with minimal supervision.
